This pattern consists of just two pieces: a right front and a left front. While the structure itself is very simple, the silhouette is remarkably unique. The kimono sleeve, cowl neck, and flare at the hem all radiate from the center front.
Sometimes, I find a certain mathematical beauty in the shape of a flat pattern. It’s something only pattern makers might understand, but there are moments when a pattern’s form takes on a striking geometric elegance—where the parts and the whole exist in perfect harmony.
