Founded in 2015 by Genta Mori and Britt Mori, The Modeliste Studio is a space devoted to reimagining the dialogue between design and pattern making. Shaped by years of practice in the field, their work bridges craftsmanship and inquiry—seeking not only to create garments, but to question how form, structure, and human gesture intertwine.

Genta began his career at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo before starting work at Comme des Garçons as a creative pattern maker. He later studied under Dries Van Noten in Antwerp and went on to work with brands such as Vera Wang, The Row, Hugo Boss and Raf Simons’s Calvin Klein. He is currently a creative pattern maker at Veronica Leoni’s Calvin Klein.

Britt studied fashion design at FIDM, earning an associate degree before continuing with the Debut Graduate Program. After graduating, she moved to New York City, where she interned at Oscar de la Renta and worked in retail at Opening Ceremony.

After some time in New York City, she decided to continue her education, earning her BFA at Parsons. She then interned at Alexander Wang before joining Proenza Schouler as an Assistant Designer. Before shifting her focus fully to pattern making, she worked as a Women’s Runway Designer at Thom Browne.

Now, Britt manages THE MODELISTE STUDIO, working with private clients on a freelance basis while also teaching part-time as a lecturer.
