CURRENT SITUATION AND PROBLEM

In the era of the couturier, cutting techniques, design, and sensibility were deeply intertwined. Over time, the division of labor and an increasing emphasis on efficiency separated pattern cutting from design. This shift has weakened the ability to construct garments as three-dimensional forms and risks narrowing the diversity of future design.

PRACTICE

We will continue to study and practice cutting techniques developed across fashion history, drawing respectfully on the work of past designers and couturiers and carrying their knowledge forward as a living legacy.
