MISSION
Create a database to preserve the cutting techniques and 3D design approaches for the body that have been explored throughout the history of fashion, in order to pass this knowledge on to the next generation.
CURRENT SITUATION AND PROBLEM
In the era of the couturier, cutting techniques, design, and sensibility were deeply integrated. However, from that time to the present day, the division of labor and a focus on efficiency have advanced. As a result, the roles of pattern cutting and design have become separated, leading to a decline in the ability to construct garments as three-dimensional forms. This separation poses a risk of diminishing design diversity in the future.
PRACTICE
We will continue to practice the cutting techniques explored from the past to the present, respectfully drawing inspiration from the work of past designers and couturiers as a legacy of fashion history.
